Those who crowded into the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles with the urge to see two of boxing’s brightest prospects were treated to less than three full rounds as both Frankie Gomez (4-0, 4 KOs) and Olympian, Garry Russell Jr. (10-0, 7 KOs) made quick work of their opponents.
The main event saw Gomez stop veteran journeyman, Jaime Orrantia (13-27-5, 4 KOs) with an uppercut at 2:34 of the first.
In the co-feature, Russell stopped Rodrigo Aranda (8-13-2, 2 KOs) early in the second via body shot. Russell also sent Aranda to the canvas at the end of the first.
Also on the card, Welterweight Jessie Vargas (11-0, 6 KOs) beat Ernest Zavala (21-5, 9 KOs) via 6th round stoppage.
