…”Waiting for the Weekend” Grind…
* The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) has lifted the 90-day suspension that it originally handed out to Golden Boy Promotions for failure to turn in the boxer/promoter contracts for their May 15th bout involving Victor Ortiz and Nate Campbell.
At a hearing held yesterday, the 3-person committee voted unanimously to lift the suspension as long as “Golden Boy agreed to submit all of the proper paper work and all of the contracts for the May 15 event…And agreed to a $10,000 fine.”
* Bob Arum will be headed to Monterrey, Mexico alongside Manny Pacquiao adviser, Michael Koncz, to scout the potential site for a Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito clash on November 13th. Somebody look at Arum’s itinerary and I bet the trip was scheduled several weeks ago…just saying…
* Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s next opponent will likely be Pawel Wolak from Mount Arlington, New Jersey. The bout would likely take place in Mexico on September 11th. So, much for the tough talk in Chavez’s camp about guys like Miguel Cotto.
* Amir Khan: “I’m a Virgin.” This incredible scoop was obtained by the Daily Star, UK….It’s also featured in “Too Much Info” Magazine.
…Grind ya later…
