According to Evander Holyfield’s manager, Ken Sanders, the 47-year old four-time former heavyweight champion of the world, has been pre-approved by the WBC’s President for Life, Jose Sulaiman, for bout with Vitali Klitschko.
“Either in January, February or the first part of the year, we should be in position to fight Vitali Klitschko,” Sanders told Boxing.Fanhouse.com. “I’ve already talked to [WBC director] Jose Sulaiman and he’s already said that he would approve [Holyfield] to fight. We’d like to win the WBC belt first.”
Of course, this is assuming Holyfield gets by his next opponent.
Holyfield is scheduled to meet journeyman Sherman Williams (34-11-2, 19 KOs) on November 5th, a little over two weeks after his 48th birthday.
