Arena Coliseo, Mexico City– Well-regarded bantamweight prospect, Cristian Esquivel (21-2, 15 KO’s), scored an impressive second round TKO victory over tough Eduardo Garcia (21-6-1, 9 KOs)
Following a good first round, Garcia amped up the offense in the second, landing several head-jerking right hands against Esquivel. However, the offensive output distracted Garcia from defense and Esquivel managed to counter with a sharp right-left combination that sent his opponent to the canvas.
With his rival buzzed and confused, Esquival pounced on Garcia and forced the stoppage with several strong shots to the head and body.
On the undercard, Salvador Sanchez II (20-4-3, 10 KOs) stopped Eric Perez (0-9-2) in four rounds.
