Former world title challenger, Reno, Nevada’s Jesse Brinkley (35-6, 22 KOs) will play host to contender, Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (23-0, 17 KOs) this Friday at the Reno Events Center in a battle between two super middleweights looking to get to the next level.

Brinkley, who competed in The Contender reality show in 2005, is coming off a one-sided ninth round knock out at the hands of IBF super middleweight champ, Lucian Bute, in October of last year.

Looking to shake the label of “journeyman,” the 34-year old Brinkley will be attempting to impress in the same fashion he did against prospect Curtis Stevens, fringe contender Otis Griffin, and former Contender alumnus, Joey Gilbert.

Quillin will be moving up several levels from recent competition while adjusting to his new affiliation with Freddie Roach and the Wild Card Gym. Quillin’s best wins to date have been against fringe contenders, Fernando Zuniga and Dionisio Miranda.
