Earlier today, the WBC ordered a mandatory eliminator between their top two ranked jr. middleweights, Vanes Martirosyan (30-0, 19 KOs) and Alfredo Angulo (19-1, 16 KOs).
Angulo, on the shelf due to immigration issues, has been inactive since stopping Joachim Alcine in one round back in July of 2010. The Mexican national was scheduled to have a tune-up bout in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico in August.
Martirosyan last fought in June, stopping veteran Saul Roman in seven rounds.
Both sides have 30 days to reach an agreement before the fight goes up for purse bid.
