AJ Banal (24-1-1, 19 KOs) looks to make the second successful defense of his WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title this Saturday against Canada’s Tyson Cave (15-1, 5 KOs) at the Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, The Philippines.
Banal, nicknamed “Bazooka,” won the vacant belt via TKO 5 against Big Yoo in July of 2010 and made his first defense in March of this year by stopping Francis Miyeyusho in the second round. The 22-year-old Banal’s biggest fight to date, though, is his tenth round KO loss to Panama’s Rafael Concepcion in 2008.
Challenger, Cave is an unknown entity with no real victories of note and no experience outside of Canada.
