Manny Pacquiao’s legal team has filed for a default judgment against Floyd Mayweather in their pending defamation lawsuit, citing Mayweather’s repeated unwillingness to make himself available for court ordered depositions.
According to Pacquiao’s lead attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, Mayweather has now missed 24 different court dates.
“Mayweather is not above the law,” Petrocelli told the Associated Press. “He’s essentially forfeited his right for a defense.”
Pacquiao’s lawsuit against Mayweather alleges that the rival boxer made repeated false statements about Pacquiao and the use of performance enhancing drugs.
