A big year lies ahead in the world of boxing with many scores going to be settled. There are still many fights that need to be finalized such as Canelo fighting Golovkin which if they manage to agree on terms should be the biggest fight of the year. There is also Manny Pacquiao who is looking to fight one more time and many still think that Floyd Mayweather will come out of retirement this year.
Amir Khan & Kell Brook
It was an extremely bad year for both Amir Khan and Kell Brook as both fighters took on bigger men and lost. They were supposed to fight each other but instead they took the wrong option and will regret their decisions. The talks between the two camps are ongoing but it is likely that they will get it on as it is the best option available to both. It will be a huge fight if they can agree terms and pivotal in both their careers as the winner will improve their standing but the loser could end up hanging up their gloves.
Khan has been vocal in the press calling for the fight and says that he will continue fighting in the U.S. If the two camps are not able to agree on terms then it is likely that Amir will face either Danny Garcia or Keith Thurman depending on which one wins when they both face each other. Brook is now in recovery as he has a damaged eye socket but is expected to be back to full fitness shortly. If the fight does go ahead it is likely not to take part until the end of the year.
David Haye Comes Out Of Retirement
One fight that is going ahead is David Haye Vs.Tony Bellew. All of the top bookmakers on gamblingwebsites.org.uk have Haye as the clear favorite to win and it would be a shock if he did lose. Do not expect this fight to go the distance as it is so unevenly unmatched and the sensible money would be to put it on Haye to win inside the first four rounds. If Haye does win and Joshua beat Klitschko it could set up the mouth-watering prospects of an all-British title fight which will be one of the biggest boxing matches to take place in British history.
Anthony Joshua Vs. Wladimir Klitschko
The biggest fight arranged for 2017 is Joshua verse Klitschko which will take place on the 29th of April at Wembley Stadium. The British heavyweight has had an exceptional career so far and has taken his time learning the trade before taking on the big names in the division. He now gets a chance to prove himself as one of the best if he beats Klitschko. He has a fantastic chance as he is the younger and more powerful fighter. Age is catching up to Klitschko and after being out for a long time he could be in for a very difficult night,
The one thing that is in Klitschko favor is his vast amount of experience fighting at the highest level. He was the champion for many years and if he is able to control the pace of the fight, he may be able to get the result he needs to resurrect his stuttering career. It would be the wrong to write him off and should be an extremely entertaining night.
