Betting on boxing matches isn’t as popular as it once was, as it is even considered a niche sport for betting. That doesn’t stop true enthusiast to bet on their favorite boxing matches in the hopes of not just winning a pretty amount of money but also getting bragging rights for the fact that they predicted the champion. With exciting new boxing matches on the way, many more might be interested to pick up this niche betting sport and attempt to earn some money. It won’t exactly be a walk in the park if you’re new to betting on boxing however, so we’ve prepared some tips on how to properly bet to profit. Once you get the basics of boxing bets, you will find it as trivial as the casino, which by the way you can experience completely electronically now, at http://onlinecasinoshub.com/.

Recent form shouldn’t be a decisive factor

When you are placing your bets, you shouldn’t put all your eggs in the “recent form” basket. It might seem like the logical thing to do, bet on the guy who’s been in the better shape recently, but most often than not that’s a sure way to risk losing your investment. Judge possible outcomes by other factors such as which boxer had a better training period and which has the best mental preparation, motivation and determination. What drives both of these guys?

Don’t go for a winner bet

It might seem like the easiest thing to do, bet on who wins the match and be done with it. However, this will get you nowhere in terms of profit. Either you bet on the underdog and most likely end up losing on higher odds, or go for the sure win, case in which you have the spoils of a 1.2 odd to go on. Neither option sounds particularly enticing. That’s because they’re not. What you should do instead is look for bets within the bets, such as how many rounds the match will have, or how will the victor be decided. More specific bets like these always yield better odds because they have considerably increased odds without necessary upping the risk of losing since many of them are very predictable.

Keep in mind the possibility of a points decision

More often than not, a boxing match ends with someone knocking out the other guy. Every now and then however, the two fighters pitted against each other are unable to take the other one down. This means that the match ends in a draw and it is up to the judges to decide a winner based on the point they give out. Keep this part of the sport in mind as the clear winner in regular time might be drastically disadvantaged when it goes to a points decision.
