WBO super flyweight champion Omar “El Huracan” Narvaez (36-1-2, 19 KOs) will defend his title against an opponent to be named later on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. El Estadio Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina will play host to the 12-round main event.
Narvaez is a long-time WBO belt holder, having held the flyweight title from 2002 until 2009, when he moved up in weight to capture the vacant super flyweight title with a decision win over Everth Briceno on May 15, 2010. Narvaez suffered the first and only defeat of his career when moved up to the bantamweight division to challenge Nonito Donaire last October. He returned in April to defend his title against Jose Cabrera, winning a wide unanimous decision victory for his the fourth successful defense of his title.
