Geale(L), Barker(R) clash on August 17th for IBF Middleweight title.

Promoters Gary Shaw Productions and Matchroom Sport have announced that IBF Middleweight Champion, Daniel Geale, will put his title on the line against England’s Darren Barker, on Saturday, August, 17th.  The main event will headline a triple-header on HBO’s Boxing After Dark.  The scheduled 12-round event will take place at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

Geale(29-1, 15 KO’s), a 32 year-old native of Australia, will make the fifth defense of his IBF title as he’s coming off a unanimous decision win over Anthony Mundine back on January 30th, avenging the sole loss in his career.  Meanwhile, Barker(25-1, 16 KO’s), 31, is coming off back-to-back wins since his 2011 KO loss to Sergio Martinez.

The two other televised bouts will soon be added and finalized for the card, and we here at TheBoxingTribune.com will be sure to keep you posted as those details become available.
