The May 19 world title rematch between Lamont Peterson and Amir Khan has been officially canceled due to Peterson’s positive test for a banned substance during voluntary random drug testing conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
Peterson tested positive for testosterone pellets, admitted to using prior to first Khan fight as well
Today it was reveled that the substance in question was something called “testosterone pellets,” a pellet that can be surgically implanted or absorbed through the skin, used primarily in a variety of hormone treatments.

It was revealed earlier today that IBF/WBA junior welterweight champion, Lamont Peterson, has tested positive for an unspecified banned substance in advance of his scheduled May 19 rematch with Amir Khan in Las Vegas.

Despite rumors circulating that he would be signing a two-fight deal with Top Rank, matching him against Juan Manuel Marquez in Cowboys Stadium with a possible Manny Pacquiao fight taking place in the Fall, WBA/IBF junior welterweight champ, Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15 KOs), came to terms with former champ, Amir Khan (26-2, 18 KOs) , for a May 19th rematch.
