Euro- promotional giant, Universum, has announced that European heavyweight champion Alexander Dimitrenko (30-1, 20 KOs) will take on former world title challenger, Albert Sosnowski (46-3-1, 28 KOs), December 4th at the Sport and Congress Center in Schwerin, Germany.
The bout should actually be an interesting, well-matched encounter featuring two 2nd-tier heavyweights trying to take another run at the top.
In May, the 6 ft 2 Pole, Sosnowski, was putting up a game effort in a title challenge to reigning WBC heavyweight champ, Vitali Klitschko, before being knocked out in the tenth. He followed that loss up with a first round TKO over journeyman, Paul Butlin, in September.
Dimitrenko, 6 ft 7 from the Ukraine, is also coming off a win over journeyman, Yaroslav Zavorotnyy, in July following the previous year’s Majority Decision loss to American, Eddie Chambers.
