Kell Brook (22-0, 15 KOs), The UK’s top welterweight and the WBO’s #1 ranked 147 pounder, will take on Philip Kotey (21-5-s, 15 KOs) of Ghana December 11th at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
Brook’s last fight was a TKO 5 win over his biggest name to date, former world title challenger, Michael Jennings, in September.
Klotey has fought almost exclusively on the African circuit and has been defeated twice in attempts to take African titles as well as once in an attempt at the WBO International title.
Brooks and American WBO #2 contender, Mike Jones (who recently beat Jesus Soto Karass in a controversial decision), will likely meet at some point in 2011 for a version of the WBO welter title, currently held by Manny Pacquiao.
