Top heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KOs) moved a step closer to a world title shot with an impressive fifth round TKO over over Vinny Maddalone (33-7, 24 KOs) on Thursday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The much quicker Adamek pretty much had his way from the get-go, connecting with rapid-fire clean shots. Adamek floored Maddalone in round five and Vinny’s corner stopped the fight after Adamek punished the wobbly Maddalone some more. Time was 2:17.
