Australia’s Daniel Geale (25-1, 15 KOs) will make the first defense of his IBF middleweight title against Nigeria-born, Miami resident, Eromosele Albert (24-4-1, 12 KOs) this Wednesday at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.

Geale took the IBF strap from Germany’s Sebastian Sylvester in May, winning a split decision in the champion’s home country. Prior to the Sylvester win, Geale’s highest profile bouts have been a TKO 12 win over Roman Karmazin in 2010 and a split decision loss to Anthony Mundine in 2009.

Albert is a former fringe contender at junior middleweight, scoring victories over Yori Boy Campas (UD 10) and Daniel Edouard (TKO 7), but dropping bouts to James Kirkland (TKO 1), Zaurbek Baysangurov (UD 12) and Derek Ennis (UD 12).
