Roy Jones Jr. Wins Unanimous Decision; The Rest of Saturday’s Action

Civic Center, Atlanta, Georgia– Roy Jones Jr. (55-8, 40 KOs) won a one-sided unanimous decision over club fighter, Max Alexander (14-6-2, 2 KOs) to claim the vacant Independent Boxing Syndicate (IBS) North American Cruiserweight title Saturday night by scores of 100-90, 100-90, 99-91.

Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu City, Philippines–
In a featherweight contest, Rey Bautista (32-2, 24 KOs) stopped Miguel Angel Mendoza (17-1-1, 17 KOs) in the sixth round of their scheduled twelve.

Estadio Centenario, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico – Defending IBF super featherweight world champ, Mexico’s Juan Carlos Salgado (24-1-1, 16 KOs) and Mexican challenger Miguel Beltran Jr. (26-2, 17 KOs) fought to a second round no contest when Salgado suffered a cut over his left eye from an accidental clash of heads.
