Soto-Karass(27-8-3, 17 KO’s) revealed to us that the fight against Berto(28-2, 22 KO’s), which will be contested at 147 lbs., is a culmination of a long time coming for him both in his life and career.  “First and foremost, I’d like to thank God , Golden Boy Promotions and Frank Espinoza for this opportunity(against Berto).” Soto then shared with us,  “This fight signifies and is a testament to the hard work, sacrifices and dues I have paid while being here in Los Angeles.  It also shows how much of my life that I have given to the sport, it’s something else to finally be viewed among the elite and at this level of boxing” Karass would further add.

As for the change from brawler to implementing a more tactical approach to his style, Karass mentioned there was and will be added improvement to his arsenal and technique which was clearly visible in his last fight against Selcuk Aydin.  Karass added, “My team is not only going to work  as hard as we did prior, but even harder now.  We’re going to implement new things to come out victorious against Berto and whomever else.  Right now, though, I’m just training to rip his head off!”

Jesus ended our conversation by thanking all of his fans from across the world.  Karass further reiterated his gratitude for being presented with this opportunity, offering: “it’s for the fans and all that support me.  We, as a team(fans and all), are where we wanted to be right now.  And I will not let this opportunity slip away.  I’m prepared and willing to die fighting for that win.”

TheBoxingTribune.com will post relative details as they become available.
