On Friday, July 12th, All Star Boxing and Boxing 360 will put together a fight card at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa, Florida that’ll be headlined by lightweight contender Mexican – Aalan Martinez taking on Charlie Serrano in a scheduled 12-round bout for the vacant WBO Latino Featherweight title. Spanish network Telemundo will air the fight.
The 29-year-old Martinez(14-2-1, 10 KO’s), is looking to rebound from his last fight, in which he was stopped by Orlando Cruz on March 15th, and not look back from that defeat. Backed by a promoter who firmly believes Martinez is still on the learning curve, Boxing 360’s Mario Yagobi says of his fighter Martinez: “Aalan is in his physical prime, but he’s still young in boxing years and everyone’s learning curve is different. I know how talented Aalan is and I know how quickly he is learning in the ring and in camp. Once his experience catches up with his physical ability he is going to prove to be a dangerous fighter capable of competing at the highest level.”
In Serrano(15-3-1, 4 KO’s), we have a 25-year-old with a similar record as Martinez, who is looking to get some of the same opportunities that Aalan envisions with a win in their fight come July 12th.
