Today, promoter Hennessy Sports announced that their super middleweight contender, James DeGale, would be facing Slovenian Stjepan Bozic on Saturday, June 8th at the Glow, Bluewater in Greenhithe, United Kingdom. The bout is scheduled for twelve rounds for the WBC Silver super middleweight championship, and will be aired on Channel 5 in the UK.
DeGale(15-1, 10 KO’s), is a former British Gold medalist looking to continue his path towards a real world title shot after losing to George Groves back in 2011. On the opposite end, in Bozic(26-6, 17 KO’s), you have a 38-year-old veteran looking to spoil DeGale’s lofty plans. Although DeGale mentions he’d love another crack at Groves or even the biggest name in UK in the same division, Carl Froch, he assures that he’s not looking past the rugged task at hand in Bozic on June 8th, adding “I’m not overlooking anyone, whoever gets put in front of me I’m training for like it was a world title fight. I’m aiming to put on a great show at Glow, Bluewater and if either Froch or Groves feel ready for a domestic super fight I hope they realize that I’m ready for them too – let’s get it on.”
