Joan Guzman(L) faces Vicente Mosqueda on June 28th.
On Friday, June 28th, All Star Boxing and Acquinity Sports will host a boxing event which will air on Telemundo’s network, live from the Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Headlining the card will be former three-division world champion, Joan Guzman, as he takes on Vicente Mosqueda in a scheduled twelve-round bout for the interim WBA lightweight welterweight title.

Guzman(33-1-1, 20 KO’s), 37, is looking to bounce back from his first professional loss, a technical decision which was awarded to Khabib Allakhverdiev on November 30th of last year. Acquinity Sports’(Guzman’s promoter) vice president, Henry Rivalta, recently revealed that in that defeat, Guzman suffered a broken right hand, as well as a broken bone under his knee. Although the Guzman camp would like nothing more than a rematch against Allakhverdiev, and bigger names, they are not looking past Mosqueda. Mosqueda(32-2-1, 17 KO’s), 33, is riding an eight fight win streak since his knockout loss to the late, Edwin Valero, back in 2006.
