Former world lightweight champion Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz (38-4, 19 KO’s) confirmed his return to the ring will be March 1st. No opponent has been named but the fight is said to be in San Antonio, Texas.
“It’s official San Antonio TX will be the location where I will fight March 1st” was the most recent statement by Diaz via his Twitter account.
This will be his fourth bout since a near three year hiatus after suffering back to back losses to Paul Malignaggi and Juan Manuel Marquez in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Diaz has held world lightweight titles for the WBA, WBO, and IBF and also had a brief reign as the NABO light welterweight champion. In 2009 he split a pair of bouts with Brooklyn’s Paul Malignaggi, before losing a 12 round decision to champion Juan Manuel Marquez in a bid for the WBO and WBA ”super” world lightweight titles.
