Top South African light flyweight Nkosinathi Joyi (24-2, 17 KO’s) will face Rey Loreto (17-13, 9 KO’s) at Salle des etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco this Saturday in a

co-feature attraction on a card headlined by world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin defending his IBO and WBA titles against Osumanu Adama.
After two and a half years as the South African minimum-weight title holder, Joyi had a five and a half year reign as a world champion, holding the IBO and IBF minimum-weight belts. He lost two of his last three bouts in the division before moving up to the light flyweight division and winning WBC International light flyweight title, stopping Benezer Alolod in nine rounds last August. This will be his second bout at light flyweight and his first attempt at a light flyweight world title.
Loreto is coming of a win over Pornsawan Porpramook in Thailand, where he won the interim PABA light flyweight title for the second time. He’s won nine of his last 11 bouts.
