IBF light flyweight champion Johnriel Casimero (19-2, 11 KO’s) will make the fourth defense of the world title May 3rd, facing number 12 ranked Mauricio Fuentes (16-2, 10 KO’s) who’s challenging for his first championship.
Casimero, who also held the interim WBO light flyweight title in 2009, has held the IBF belt since February of 2012 when he defeated Luis Lazarte to win the interim version of the title, and was recognized as the “full” champion in his next defense. Fuentes suffered two defeats early in his career, but has been undefeated in his last 13 contests. This will be his first bout outside Columbia.
