There were eight ranked fighters in action last week and several rankings changes were made.
Wladimir Klitschko, with his win over #10 ranked Tony Thompson, moved up from the #2 slot at heavyweight to assume the #1 position, passing his brother, Vitali.
With a loss, Thomspon falls from the Top 10 and fellow American, Franklin Lawrence, assumes the #10 spot.
Also at heavyweight, Tyson Fury stays in his #5 slot despite his stoppage victory over Vinny Maddalone.
At junior featherweight, Nonito Donaire moved from #3 to #2 with his win over fourth ranked Jeffrey Mathebula. Donaire also added Mathebula’s IBF title to his own WBO strap. Mathebula fell from #4 to #7 with the loss.
Welterweight, Kell Brook, despite a tough win over Carson Jones, stays in the #3 slot at 147 lbs.
Yota Sato, also with a win, stays put at #2 in the super flyweight division.
Bantamweight Hugo Ruiz made the biggest climb in the rankings, moving from #9 to #5 at 118 lbs. with a win over Jean Sampson.
Super featherweight, Javier Fortuna, moved up from #9 to #8 following his TKO2 win over Cristobal Cruz.
