University of Texas, Arlington, Texas– In what could only be described as a truly professional performance, Terence Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs) sized up, sorted out, then put away Thomas Dulorme (22-2, 14 KOs) in the sixth round to win the vacant WBO junior welterweight title Saturday night in the first bout of a split-site HBO doubleheader.
Giving away the first two rounds of the bout, Crawford quickly picked up Dulorme’s hard-charging, but sloppy advances and then began timing him for hos own shots.
By the fifth round, Crawford was letting his hands go more, increasingly confident in his own ability to score.
A basic left-right combination in the sixth round wobbled and sent Dulorme to the ropes, where an efficient and laser-focused Crawford delivered three knockdowns en route to the TKO victory.
With this victory in his 140 lb. debut, Crawford not only wins a world title, but also establishes himself as one of the top names in the junior welterweight division and a possible opponent for the winner of the Provodnikov-Matthysse bout.
