Jake Paul was supposed to take on Mike Tyson this weekend in what would’ve easily been the biggest boxing spectacle of the summer. Instead, we got another Mike. Bare Knuckle FC middleweight champion Mike Perry, as a replacement this Saturday, July 20, on DAZN Pay-per-view due to injury. The show must go on, and here we are. The buzz surrounding the build-up to this fight can only be described as musty energy at best.

Tell Me Who Mke Perry Is? No One has been saying anything.
Mike Perry is what many would call a “likes to fight” guy. Perry has been fighting since 2014 in almost every version of combat sports, ranging from boxing to UFC to even the gone but not forgotten Triller Triad Combat. The fight scouting report when I saw Perry firsthand at BKFC 41 was a come-forward, pressure style that helped us all beat the traffic out of Broomfield last year. BKFC fights aren’t built for endurance but for speed and action, consistently delivering quick results. Also, as on display in the Open Workouts, a pretty solid right.
What’s the Undercard Looking Like?
- Ashton Sylve (11-0, 9 KOs) vs Lucas Bahdi (16-0, 14 KOs)
- Tony Aguilar (12-0-1, 4 KOs) vs. Corey Marksman (9-0-1, 7 KOs)
- Shadasia Green (13-1,11 KOs) vs Natasha Spence (8-4-2, 6 KOs)
- Angel Barrientes (11-1, 7 KOs) vs. Edwin Rodriguez (12-8-2, 5 KOs)
- Amanda Serrano (46- 2-1, 30 KOs) vs. Stevie Morgan (14-1,13 KOs)
- Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1, 34 KOs) VS. Uriah Hall (1-0)
- Ariel Perez (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Dane Guerrero (0-0-1)
- Alexis Chaparro (1-0, 1 KOs) vs. Kevin Hill (1-1, 1 KO)
Remember Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.? Skip the Pepperidge Farm today, but he’s facing long-time UFC veteran Uriah Hall at cruiserweight. Amanda Serrano stays busy against Tampa native Stevie Morgan while the planet waits on Serrano-Taylor 2. Shadasia Green is also in action against Natasha Spence. The card showcases the fighters on Most Valuable Promotions, so if the opponent sounds like some Boxrec research projects, have fun with that homework.
Odds And Prediction
The line for the main event has Jake Paul favored around 4 or 5 to 1 on most sportsbooks, and that’s interesting that these same books have Paul as only a 2 or 3 to 1 favorite against Mike Tyson, now slated for November. If he lets his hands go, Paul should win as expected by stoppage, but if you want to bet on the future and that Tyson fight, I’ll tell you, for entertainment purposes, chase after that instead. Cause once Paul stops Perry, that number is going to plummet. Instead, on this card, toss a few shekels on a flyer like Uriah Hall to beat a back-nine Chavez Jr.
Jake Paul -400
Mike Perry +350
