The fans at the Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas were treated to a Fight of the Year candidate when Joseph Agbeko (27-2, 22 KOs) put his IBF Bantamweight title on the line against underrated Colombian challenger, Yonnhy Perez (20-0, 14 KOs).

The bout was evenly-fought throughout all twelve rounds with the action shifting in favor of each fighter at various points of the contest.

Perez scored an official knockdown in the eleventh when a clash of heads caused Agbeko to stop throwing punches and Perez capitalized by pummeling him to the ground. At the end of the evening, the knockdown didn’t factor into the decision as the judges had the fight scored 117-110, 117-110 and 116-111 in favor of the new champ. The BTBC had the fight a lot closer with a mark of 114-113, also for the Colombian.

On the undercard, Antonio DeMarco (23-1-1, 17 KOs) scored a TKO 10 over Jose Alfaro to claim the WBC Interim Lightweight title and move towards a bout with reigning WBC champ, Edwin Valero.
