Reigning IBF super middleweight champion, Lucian Bute (27-0, 22 KOs) headlines a card at Montreal’s Bell Centre on March 19th.
Bute will be defending his title against Ireland’s Brian Magee (34-3-1, 24 KOs). This will be Bute’s seventh title defense of the belt he won from Alejandro Berrio in 2007. Magee is on a 9-0-1 streak with his most noteworthy win that run being against Mads Larsen for EBU super middleweight title. Magee has previously suffered losses to Carl Froch, Vitaly Tsypko, and Robin Reid.
On the undercard, 2-time IBF jr. featherweight champ, Steve Molitor (33-1, 12 KOs), takes on Takalani Ndlovu (31-6, 18 KOs) for the third time. Molitor won both previous contests, via TKO9 in 2007 and via unanimous decision in March for the then.vacant IBF title.
Also, former world title challenger, Edison Miranda (33-5, 29 KOs) will go up against Quebec’s Renan St. Juste (22-2-1, 15 KOs). Miranda is coming off a third round TKO loss to Lucian Bute in April, while St. Juste just scored a KO2 win over Sebastien Demers.
