This Saturday’s scheduled title unification in the light heavyweight division between WBO champ, Juergen Braehmer, and WBA champ, Beibut Shumenov, has been called off.

Already in Kazakhstan, Braehmer suddenly and abruptly left the country, citing illness.

According to Dan Goosen, Shumenov’s promoter, Braehmer “said he had diarrhea… [but] didn’t inform anyone that he was sick and we just happened to find out he had packed his bags and was on his way to the airport.”
