Less than two weeks after his first round destruction of Ahsandi Gibbs on the Saul Alvarez-Matthew Hatton undercard in Anaheim, jr. middleweight contender, James Kirkland (26-0, 23 KOs) will be fighting once again, this Friday on Telefutura’s Solo Boxeo series emanating from the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California.
Kirkland’s opponent will be Jhon Berrio (15-8, 11 KOs), a Colombian journeyman who has lost 4 of his last 6, most recently retiring in six rounds against Peter Manfredo Jr. in November of last year.
Kirkland, looking to shake off the ring rust from his 2-year incarceration/inactivity, is also scheduled to be fighting on the Erik Morales-Marcos Maidana undercard on April 9th.
