According to the LA Times, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero and Marcos Maidana have committed to face one another at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on August 27.

Guerrero, who has outgrown three weight classes in three years, will be making his debut in the jr. welterweight division. In his last bout, Guerrero outclassed Michael Katsidis in a light weight clash.

Maidana is coming off a tougher-than-expected victory over Erik Morales in April and, prior to that, a unanimous decision loss to Amir Khan.

Guerrrero-Maidana will be broadcast on HBO with heavyweight, Seth Mitchell tentatively booked for the undercard.
