23-year-old Filipino prospect, Mercito Gesta (21-0-1, 11 KOs), will face the first real test of his young career against veteran Francisco Lorenzo (36-10, 16 KOs) on the Brandon Rios-Urbano Antillon undercard, July 9 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

The recent signee to Top Rank Promotions has been sparring with Amir Khan and is being positioned to make waves in either the lightweight or jr. welterweight division.

Francisco Lorenzo is an eleven year veteran from the Dominican Republic who has been in the ring with likes of Humberto Soto, Juan Diaz, Nate Campbell, Jorge Linares, and Erik Morales. Although usually coming up short against elite-level opposition, the awkward Lorenzo has never been stopped.

**UPDATE** (7/7)

Francisco Lorenzo has been replaced by journeyman Jorge Pimentel (23-11, 17 KOs)
