Texas Station Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada– Super featherweight prospect, Diego Magdaleno (20-0, 7 KOs), showed class and poise as he outclassed a game Alejandro Perez (15-3-1, 10 KOs) to take a unanimous ten-round decision by scores of 98-90, 99-90, and 98-91. The Boxing Tribune also scored the bout 98-90 in favor of the Las Vegas native, Magdaleno.
Despite a flash knockdown in the first from an overhand right by Perez, the 24-year-old Magdaleno cruised through the rest of the fight, boxing intelligently and showing himself to be a legitimate blue-chip prospect.
Perez was deducted a point in the second round for low blows, but it didn’t factor into the contest as Magdaleno was in complete control for the vast majority of the bout.
On the televised undercard, super featherweight, Casey Ramos (14-0, 4 KOs) boxed his way to an oddly scored eight-round split decision victory over Russia’s Georgi Kevlishvili (12-3, 3 KOs).
One judge saw the fight 77-75 for Kevlishvili while the other two scored the contest 77-75 and 78-74 for Ramos. The Boxing Tribune scored the bout 78-74 for Casey Ramos.
