Wonjongkam stays busy against Dondon Jimenea, Thursday August 4

Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (81-3-1, 44 KOs) will take a stay busy fight against Dondon Jimenea (26-16-4, 13 KOs), Thursday August 4, at Central Sports Stadium in Pisanulok, Thailand. The bout is scheduled for 6 rounds.

Wonjongkam is a two-time WBC flyweight champion. His first title reign lasted from 2001 to 2007, and included quality wins over Daisuke Naito (twice), Luis Lazarte, and Gilberto Keb Baas. Wonjongkam began his current title reign with a majority decision win over Koki Kameda in March 2010. He fought one non-title bout before his first defense seven months later. Prior to his successful 12-round title defense against Takuya Kogawa in July, Wonjongkam fought three 6-round fights against fighters with a combined record of 2-7, with 1 KO win against 6 KO losses.

Jimenea, a super flyweight club fighter from the Philippines, has lost 4 of his last 7, with 2 wins in 6-round bouts against fighters with a combined record of 15-38-6.
