This Saturday from Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ heavyweight Vinny Maddalone 33-7 (24 KO) looks to get back in the win column against Mike Sheppherd 19-12-1 (9 KO). Maddalone last fought in December of 2010 when he was stopped by Tomasz Adamek in five rounds. Maddalone lost his biggest fights to quality opposition including a TKO loss to Evander Holyfield in 2007 and decision loss to Denis Boystov in 2008. Sheppherd from Palestine West Virginia was stopped by Boystov in two rounds in 2010 in his only notable bout.

In the co-feature Shamone Alvarez 21-4 (12 KO) squares off with Christopher Fernandez 19-13-1 (12 KO) in a welterweight bout. Alvarez who resides in Atlantic City looks to rebound from back to back losses in his previous two bouts. Alvarez started his career 19-0 but has now lost four of his last six including to Josh Clottey and Delvin Rodriguez. Fernandez has lost to several notable opponents including Devon Alexander, Paulie Malignaggi, and Danny Garcia.
