Sports Complex, Salinas, California– The Boxing Tribune’s 11th Ranked super featherweight, Eloy Perez (22-0-2, 6 KOs) stopped journeyman, Daniel Jimenez (20-4-1, 12 KOs) in two rounds, scoring three knockdowns along the way.
After about 90 seconds of feeling out his opponent, Perez pounced and dropped Jimenez with a sharp right hand a little after the midway point of the first round. Jimenez, fighting for only the second time in over two years, beat the count, but was dropped again seconds later with a barrage of punches, beating the count one more time before the end of the round.
Perez came out aggressive for the second, eventually connecting with a monstrous left hand that turned Jimenez’s legs stiff, sending him to the ropes and down to the canvas. This time, the ref immediately waved off the bout, not giving the fighter another chance to beat the count.
