Nathan Cleverly Defends WBO Title Against Tommy Karpency February 25th

Undefeated Nathan Cleverly, Britain’s last remaining world champion, puts his WBO light-heavyweight title on the line when he defends against 25-year old American Tommy Karpency.

Cleverly, 23-0, 11 KO’s, will be boxing at home for the first time in four years when he entertains Karpency at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on February 25th. 24 year old Cleverly is itching for a fight with Bernard Hopkins and will welcome some exposure Stateside as he moves his career forward.

Karpency, 21-2, 14 KO’s, represents decent opposition but the form-line suggests Cleverly should get past him – one of the American’s reversals was a wide decision loss to Karo Murat eighteen months ago. Cleverly, of course, has stopped Murat in ten rounds.

“This is my first fight in Cardiff for a long time and I’m looking forward to putting on a good show for my fans against Karpency,” said Cleverly.
