Unidad Deportiva Centenario, Morelia, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico– Cristian Mijares (45-6-2, 21 KOs) toyed with, played with, and then disposed of overmatched Eddy Julio (13-4-1, 11 KOs) in four rounds in a tune up prior to July’s planned bout with Nonito Donaire.

There’s not much to say about the actual bout Saturday night. Mijares came forward and went through the motions of a perfunctory feeling-out period of three rounds before knocking out the Colombian journeyman in the fourth with a right-left combination.

The only thing worthy of note was Mijares’ use of Rammstein as entrance music– possibly a first in Mexican boxing history.

On the undercard, Culiacan’s Marvin Quintero (25-3, 21 KOs) stopped Filipino, Manny Pacquiao look-a-like, Al Sabaupan (18-1-1, 13 KOs) in the ninth round of an exciting IBF lightweight title eliminator.
