Travis Walker has signed on to be the opponent for Tomasz Adamek September 8 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ in an afternoon heavyweight bout. Adamek, who is coming off his win over Eddie Chambers in June, is looking to stay busy. He had been scheduled to face James Toney but the bout was called off recently.
Walker (39-7-1, 31 KO) is a bigger heavyweight, standing six feet and five inches allowing Adamek to continue learning to fight in the heavyweight division against bigger opponents. Walker has lost his most notable fights including xontests against Chris Arreola, Kubrat Pulev, and Ruslan Chagaev.
The former Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight champ, Adamek, will again be fighting in front of his adopted hometown fans in Newark, comprised of Polish faithful In addition, the bout will be broadcast on PPV in Poland making it necessary for the bout to be in the afternoon at 4pm to accommodate time differences and Polish TV.
Main Events also announced that rising heavyweight Bryant Jennings will likely be on the card. At this time a US TV outlet is not signed on to broadcast the bouts.
