It’s Official: Mayweather chooses Marcos Maidana

The long-awaited decision has finally been made. This, just announced via Floyd Mayweather’s official Twitter account on the day of Mayweather’s 37th birthday:

I will be fighting Marcos Maidana May 3rd on Pay-per-view Showtime/CBS http://t.co/mtj7H8WVxu pic.twitter.com/Rc2N87zcjP

Despite losing the Mayweather Promotions fan poll to Amir Khan, Maidana, on the strength of his decisive win over Adrien Broner last December, will get the chance to defend his WBA welterweight title against WBC champ, Mayweather. floyd-mayweather-jr2
