HBO Issues Statement: “We’re not impediment to Mayweather-Pacquiao fight”

In a statement sent to media today, HBO wanted to clarify that, despite stories leading the public to believe otherwise, they are not holding up talks in the effort to make a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight:

“With all the reporting and media interest we at HBO Sports wanted to make this one comment:

We are not an impediment to this fight.

We stand ready to go.

The principals need to agree to terms and come to a deal.”

So, according to the network, the principals have yet to agree to terms. This contradicts statements that have been made repeatedly– especially by Pacquiao’s side of the negotiating table, which claims to be 100% on board. It also casts a shadow on Mayweather and just how ready he is to make a deal at this moment, regardless of meeting face to face with Pacquiao and adviser Michael Koncz in Miami.
