Panama’s Luis Concepcion (22-1, 17 KOs) will take on Hernan “Tyson” Marquez (29-2, 22 KOs) for the WBA flyweight title April 2nd in the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City.Co
Concepcion, who is recognized by the WBA as the interim flyweight champ, was set to take on full champion, Daiki Kameda for the WBA flyweight title until Kameda decided to vacate the title and moved up to super flyweight.
In Kameda’s place for the title contest will be Marquez, who was stopped in eight rounds by Nonito Donaire in July of last year, but has gone 2-0 against club-level opposition since then.
Concepcion has scored six straight stoppages, including a first round TKO of former flyweight champ, Thailand’s Denkaosan Kaovichit in October.
