…Hump Day Grind…
* To think, at the mid-point of the year we were thinking of Mayweather-Pacquiao and Haye-Klitschko…Now, as time passes, it looks we’ll be getting Pacquiao-Cotto II or Pacquiao-Margarito and Haye-Audley Harrison…Talk about a let-down.
* To lend credence to the rumors that David Haye will be fighting Audley Harrison next, Harrison’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, told the Telegraph UK that he hopes to “make an announcement in the next two weeks” regarding the rumored Haye-Harrison mind-f*ck. Yippeee!
* According to Bob Arum (!), Nonito Donaire’s next fight will be for the bantamweight title against Fernando Montiel in November. After that, Donaire could meet Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. for the Jr. Featherweight title. This was confirmed on Donaire’s Facebook page. No word yet on an official Twitter confirmation.
* Citing a rib injury suffered in sparring, Chris John has pulled out of his July 26th featherweight title defense against Fernando Saucedo.
* Marcos Maidana’s “keep busy” fight on August 28th will be against DeMarcus “Chop Chop” Corley in Maidana’s native Argentina…No word yet on whether a giant spatula to scrape Corley off the mat can be found in time for the contest.
…Grind y’all later…
