In a rematch of The Boxing Tribune’s 2010 Fight of the Year, Giovani Segura (26-1-1, 22 KOs) will once again take on former champ, Ivan Calderon (34-1-1, 6 KOs) in a contest for Segura’s undisputed jr. flyweight title.
In their first encounter, in Puerto Rico, Segura wore down and eventually stopped the crafty, slick southpaw veteran in seven high octane rounds.
This time, they will meet in Segura’s native Mexico with the “Aztec Warrior” aiming to prove that the first fight wasn’t a fluke and Calderon setting-out to re-assert the skills that saw him become an undefeated, two-division world champ over the last seven years.
