Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Boondall, Queensland, Australia– In a rematch of last December’s shocking upset, Anthony Mundine (41-4, 24 KOs) evened up the score by taking a unanimous ten round decision from Garth Wood (10-2, 6 KOs).
The affair was crude and bloody throughout, with both fighters suffering cuts due to accidental head clashes. Mundine managed to pull ahead by dropping Wood in the ninth and tenth rounds. The judges’ scorecards read: 96-92, 96-92, and 95-93, all in favor of Mundine, who was deducted a point in the tenth for holding and hitting.
After the bout, Mundine ruled out a third encounter.
Oceana Hall, Brooklyn, New York– Luis Collazo (31-4, 16 KOs) marked his return to active duty by stopping Franklin Gonzalez (13-9, 10KOs) in three rounds. Collazo, who is now self-managed, hopes to enter the growing ranks of the jr. middleweight division.
Also, Dmitriy Salita (33-1-1, 17KOs) scored a unanimous eight round decision over Ronnie Warrior Jr. (13-5-1, 4KOs).
