4-Round Boxing News Brief (Latest on Kell Brook, Odlanier Solis, Humberto Soto, Ulises Solis)

* UK welterweight prospect, Kell Brook (24-0, 16 KOs) and Poland’s Rafal Jackiewicz (38-9-1, 19 KOs) are signed to meet October 8 in Sheffield, England in a WBA world title eliminator. The winner will get a shot at WBA welterweight titlist, Viacheslav Senchenko.

* Odlanier Solis (17-1, 12 KOs) will return to the ring October 14 after his March KO 1 disappointment against Vitali Klitschko. He will face Germany’s Varol Vekiloglu (18-2-1, 10 KOs).

* Humberto Soto (56-7-2, 32 KOs) is signed to face journeyman, Jose Alfaro (25-7, 22 KOs) September 3 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. The bout will be contested at the jr. welterweight limit.

* Ulises Solis will make the first defense of his newly-reacquired IBF jr. flyweight title against Argentina’s Eduardo Adrian Mendoza (13-1-1, 7 KOs) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on August 27.
