Rojas Dethroned, Hatton Cruises; The Rest of Friday’s Action

Khunmuangsri Stadium, Muang, Srisaket, Thailand — Underdog, Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (19-5-1, 7 KOs) of Thailand took the WBC super flyweight title from Mexico’s Tomas Rojas (36-13-1, 24 KOs) via unanimous decision by scores of 117-111, 116-112, and 115-114.

Tower Circus, Blackpool, Lancashire, United Kingdom — Welterweight, Matthew Hatton (42-5-2, 16 KOs) cruised to a one-sided unanimous decision over Andrei Abramenka (15-1-2, 3 KOs) of Belarus. The scorecards read: 118-109, 118-109, 118-110

Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, Dover, Delaware, United States —
39-year-old heavyweight, Amir Mansour (15-0, 11 KOs) won a one-sided ten round decision over former contender, Dominick Guinn (33-8-1, 22 KOs) with scores of 100-90, 100-90, and 99-91.

Also, Edgar Santana (26-3, 17 KOs) stopped Omri Lowther (14-4, 10 KOs) in the fifth round of a ten-round jr. welterweight bout. Lowther has now lost three in a row, with back to back fifth round TKO 5 losses. This is Santana’s second straight win after a three year layoff that included a prison stint for his role in a cocaine trafficking ring.
