This Friday, from Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, prospects Sharif Bogere and Francisco Contreras put their undefeated records on the line against each other.  The ten round lightweight bout will headline Showtime’s Sho-Box card.

Bogere 20-0 (12 KO) was born in Uganda but now makes his home in Las Vegas.  In his most recent bout, Bogere defeated Raymundo Beltran 24-3 at the time to win the vacant WBO NABO lightweight title.  Prior to that Bogere, steadily stepped up his opposition against increasingly better opposition including Cristian Favela and Christopher Fernandez.

Contreras, 16-0 (13 KO), originally from the Dominican Republic and now living in Irvington, NJ is making his first big step up in competition.  In his last bout, Contreras defeated Adolfo Landeros 20-16-1 at the time.  Prior to that the majority of his opponents sported a .500 record or below.

In the supporting bout, Jermell Charlo 15-0 (7 KO) of Houston Texas takes on Francisco Santana 12-2-1 (6 KO).  Charlo is largely untested other than a win against Luis Grajeda who was undefeated at the time of the bout.  Santana of Santa Barbara, CA fought to a draw against prospect Julian Williams 8-0-1 in his last bout.  Both of Santana’s losses came against undefeated Karim Mayfield.
